Need of Skilled Personnel in the Medical Sector, need of the hour says Dr. Krishnan 

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) has organized a National Conference titled, SYMTECH 2019. The theme for this conference is, “Allied Healthcare in a Technology Driven Ecosystem” and it was held on 4th and 5th January, 2019 at SIU’s Lavale Campus, Pune.
Prime Minister’s vision of skilling India particularly in the Healthcare sector has resulted in “SYMTECH 2019” a National Conference on Allied Healthcare in a Technology Driven Ecosystem for the first time in India.

Dr. Madan R. Krishnan, Vice President and Managing Director Indian Sub-Continent (South Asia) at India Medtronic Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Pavan Choudary, Director General and Chairman Medical Technology Association of India and Managing Director, Vygon India were the Guests of honor for the ceremony.

Dr. Madan R. Krishnan talked about “Health for All”. This is for the first time in India an initiative is taken by the government. Health has now become the priority for the government. He talked about how the use of technology is beneficial in diagnosing and treating a patient. There is a need of skilled personnel in the medical sector who can operate the complex technical equipment and Institutions like Symbiosis providing such type of skill based education are playing a major role in the medical sector, he added further. There are wide ranges of opportunities for the students as Allied Healthcare Professionals (AHP) and currently there is a huge shortage of such type of AHP’s in India.
Remote monitoring of a patient is possible with the use of technology which is the major advantage considering distance as the constraint. Many a time a patient’s disease cannot be identified due the lack of techniques, an exact diagnosis of particular disease and a corrective treatment for the same is possible with the help of modern technical equipment, Dr. Krishnan further reiterated.

Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar Dean, Faculty of Health and Biological Sciences highlighted that this conference will see deliberations on various topics like Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, IVF technologies, Cancer Diagnostics, Sleep Disorder etc.

The objective of the conference is to empower allied healthcare professionals, promote development, inculcate advanced technology to clinical practices, and understand emerging diagnostic and therapeutic modalities, innovation, quality assurance, accreditation and regulation in allied healthcare, developing entrepreneurial mindsets and skill enhancement. The conference will provide a platform for researchers in the field of Allied Healthcare to exchange their ideas and forge new collaborative partnership and interaction with India’s leading technocrats in the field of Medical technology.

Mujumdar, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and Principal Director (Symbiosis Society) Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) Dr. Rajani Gupte were the other distinguished dignitaries present for the function.
