Nationwide doctors to go on strike on 17 June : IMA

Npnews24 online : In the recent press conference held by Indian Medical Association (IMA), doctors from across the country will go on strike on June 17; during the period emergency service will remain open, hitting to others.

The Indian Medical Association has called for a nationwide strike protesting the attack on a doctor in Kolkata. Services of many hospitals may be hit by the protest, “IMA said in the recent press conference that, “Several Medical Students are in fear and there is long protest experienced in Kolkata and other cities of the country on Friday affecting to (OPDs) and other services.

IMA urged people to come together and also to apply central law in the arrest.

The “Emergency services will function normally as the resident doctors will purportedly continue to work in the emergency services as per their scheduled duties,” said AIIMS medical superintendent DK Sharma.

IMA Secretary said, “We request all doctors to join in protest on June 17, including private hospital doctors. Frequent violence against doctors, are now demanding stringent action against accused.

Hospital will close from June 17 6 am to June 18 6 am.
