MUSICAL EVENING PERFORMANCE BY AIR FORCE BAND

As part of 72^nd Independence Day Celebration under the theme “Know Your Forces”, a musical evening was organized at Liberty Square, Phoenix by 9 Base Repair Depot, Air Force Station Pune on 09 Aug 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. The musical evening was presented by Air Force Band of Maintenance Command, Nagpur. Besides Indian and western popular instrumental songs, the band enthralled the audience with martial tunes.

The main objective of the event was not only to spread the message of patriotism and nationalism but also to enhance the awareness about Indian Armed Forces in general and Indian Air Force in particular among the residents of Pune. They gained first-hand knowledge about the role of IAF during peace and wartime situation.

People were also informed about the military potential of Indian Air Force, various types of Aircraft and modern weaponry systems. This initiative educated the citizen of India about the “Guardians of India”- the Indian Air Force. It also provided ample opportunities to the youngster of Pune to visualise various career opportunities offered by the Indian Air Force. The glimpses of a challenging career, lifestyle and the living pattern of Air Warriors will go in a long way in motivating the youngsters to opt Indian Air Force as a career.
