Man from Jharkhand arrested for labourer’s murder

A 26-year-old man from Jharkhand has been arrested by Pune city police in connection with the murder of a labourer. The arrested accused has been identified as Anil Khadiya.

Ajit Nandkumar Bhuia (38), also from Jharkhand, who worked at a road construction site near Sangvi Phata, was found murdered on July 31. His body was found on an open plot near the Sangvi traffic division office. He was attacked with sharp weapon.

A team led by senior police inspector Mohan Shinde, in-charge of Sangvi police station, arrested Khadiya.

According to police, the deceased and some other labourers were drinking liquor on the night of July 30. Bhuia and Khadiya had argument over past enmity following which Khadiya attacked him with a sharp weapon and later bludgeoned him to death with a stone.
