Police have repeatedly urged people to not get trapped in the greed of the lottery, but even after knowing all, people are trapped by fraudsters.

Kasab Peth resident Vaishali Lavhate (48) has lodged an FIR with Faraskhana police station that she has been cheated of Rs 16.32 lakhs under the pretext of Rs two crores lottery prize money by four persons.

According to police, the incident took place between April 11 and May 29. The accused persons called her on phone and also sent an email stating that she has won lottery worth Rs 1.7 crores. In order to get the prize money, they asked her to send transaction fees, taxes etc in different accounts and the woman transferred Rs 16.32 lakhs. She didn’t get the prize money and accused persons’ phones were also switched off. The woman realised the fraud and lodged a complaint with police.

The police inspector (crime) Sambhaji Shirke is further investigating the case. The case has been registered against accused persons who had identified themselves as Dr Paul Nelson, Pramik, Anila and Dr Raobert Mueler.
