Man arrested for stealing donation box from temple in Ghorpadi
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | The Pune Police have succeeded in arresting a criminal who stole the donation box from a temple. The name of the accused is Anil Haushilal Chavan (22) from Parbhani. He was previously booked at many police stations for burglaries and thefts of donation boxes from temples. (Pune Crime News)
The investigation team of Wanwadi Police was patrolling in the Ghorpadi area. The accused was seen standing with a steel donation box in Sopan Baugh. PSI Ajay Bhosale got suspicious. On seeing the police, the accused ran away with the donation box. The police chased him and took into custody.
After thorough interrogation of the accused, he confessed to have stolen the donation box from Lakshmi Mata temple in Ghorpadi. A broken donation box, Rs 500 in cash and a CCTV camera were seized from him. The accused is a criminal on record and was previously booked at the Samarth Police Station, Kurduwadi Police Station, Kalyan Police Station for thefts at temples.
