Mahabaleshwar Case : Principal Secretary Sent on Leave, FIR on All 23 Including for Violating Lockdown

Satara :  The case of lockdown violations by the promoters of the DHFL group in Maharashtra is now catching on. The police have registered a case against DHFL promoter Kapil Wadhawan, who went to Mahabaleshwar in Khandala with 23 others during the lockdown. The state government was facing a lot of trouble since this matter came to light. It is being told that CM Uddhav Thackeray was very angry with this. According to the latest news, the principal secretary Amitabh Gupta, who allowed Wadhawan to visit Mahabaleshwar, has been sent by the Home Minister on long leave.

It is noteworthy that DHFL promoter Kapil Wadhawan, along with 23 others, was spotted by local municipal corporation officials at his farm house in Mahabaleshwar. There was a stir in the state government after the matter came to light. Police detained all 23 people, including Wadhawan. All these are quarantined. Along with this, a case has been registered against 23 people including Wadhawan for breaking the lockdown. Section 188, 269,270, 34 and Disaster Management Act 51 (b) of IPC, Maharashtra COVID-19 Regulation 2020 have been imposed on them. Promoters of DHFL Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan are accused in Yes Bank and DFHL fraud cases.

After the Wadhawan case came to light, the state government has now sent Principal Secretary Amitabh Gupta on leave. State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted that after consulting Chief Minister Thackeray, Amitabh Gupta has been sent on compulsory leave. He will be on leave until the investigation is complete.
