Kasba Peth is a constituency of Hindutvawadis and reports of Brahmin voters being unhappy are rumours, says Devendra Fadnavis

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Kasba Peth Bypoll Election | Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis while speaking at a meeting held as a part of election campaign for Hemant Rasane said that a narrative was created that Brahmin voters were unhappy. “The Kasba Peth constituency has been nurtured by Girish Bapat. Even if anyone tries to create narratives, the Hindutvawadi voters of Kasba Peth will not fall prey to such propaganda,” Fadnavis said. He also pooh-poohed the criticism of opposition leaders. “Even if the election is being held in Kasba Peth, it has become a battle of thought processes. The Kasba Peth constituency is with BJP for many years and Girish Bapat has looked after the constituency. Various agendas were executed during the poll campaign. Efforts were made to spread disinformation that Mukta Tilak’s family and Brahmins are unhappy. But Kasba Peth is a constituency of Hindutvawadis. Hence, even if anyone tries to create various narratives, it will not make a difference. This is not a contest between Hemant Rasane versus Ravindra Dhangekar but it is an ideological battle. This is a battle between supporters of Article 370 and its opponents. We follow the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. Only the BJP’s candidate would be elected from here and the Congress candidate would be defeated,” Fadnavis said.

A few days ago, Girish Bapat had taken part in a meeting of BJP activists held at Kesariwada. Bapat attended the meeting despite being unwell. Bapat was facing problems while speaking. Hence, many people had criticised the BJP and Fadnavis. The opposition leaders had alleged that despite Bapat’s ill-health, he was told to take part in the campaign to seek votes. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare had alleged that Fadnavis had no humanity.
