Jamia Protest Turned Violent, Youth Shot Pistol, One Injured in Firing

NP NEWS 24 : New Delhi : The protest by Jamia students against the citizenship law has turned violent. On Thursday, during the march taken from Jamia to Rajghat, a boy shot a piston in Jamia Nagar. During the protest of the students of Jamia, a student is shot in the hand, who has been taken to Holy Family Hospital for treatment. The police has detained one of the suspects. A police officer said that the police is investigating the case.

Information is being received that this young man was raising slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Vande Mataram’. At the same time, he was sloganeering that ‘Vande Mataram Kehna Hoga if You Want to Leave in India’.

On the incident of firing by Jamia students during March, DCP Chinmay Biswal of Delhi Police said that “we have to find out what is the actual incident. Police is deployed in the entire area. This incident has taken place during March. Police is getting more information about this.”
