Indrani Balan Foundation to bear cost of education of children of terror affected families in Jammu and Kashmir, says Punit Balan

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Indrani Balan Foundation | The Indrani Balan Foundation has decided to bear the cost of education of children of terror-affected families in Jammu and Kashmir after locating them, said Chairman of Indrani Balan Foundation Punit Balan. (Indrani Balan Foundation)

The initiative of the Indrani Balan Foundation to bring about a change in the lives of children who were affected by drugs and terrorism is praiseworthy. The Indrani Balan Foundation has always taken the lead in doing social work. Now, they are trying to help children of families who have been badly affected by terrorism. The terror incident which took place in Rajouri area in Kashmir Valley had a negative impact on the education of children. These children are facing a problem of education. Hence, Indrani Balan Foundation has decided to search for terror affected families and bear the entire cost of education of their children.

Speaking about the fact that many children have become orphans due to terror attacks which have had a devastating impact on many families, Punit Balan said, “ The foundation wants to help the children to its maximum capacity. Such initiatives have been implemented in other states. But we selected Jammu and Kashmir because someone must make a beginning to ensure that the lives of these children are not overshadowed by the darkness. Hence, we are making a beginning.”

After scrapping of Article 370 in Kashmir in August 2019, Punit Balan is the first businessman to start work on development projects and children’s education. The foundation has played an important role in ‘Nation First’, an education initiative for Kashmiri children’s education. Ten schools which were set by the Indian Army, are being operated in Baramaulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pahalgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Uri, Trehgma and Gurez. The foundation is providing technical, educational and financial assistance to Dagger School For Special Children in Baramulla. It is also supporting Kashmiri sportsmen to take part in international events. So far, the foundation has helped 5,000 youths.

Umar Ahmed, who plays kho-kho for the Mumbai team with the foundation’s support, said, “I am grateful to the Indian Army and Punit Balan. The foundation has helped me in all ways.”

Cyclist Mohammad Salim Shaikh, who has taken part in eight international competitions, said, “The foundation has helped me very much. I was able to take part in international events due to the help and support of the foundation and the Indian Army.”
