Uddhav Thackeray should speak with restraint, says Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis
MUMBAI : NpNews24 Online – Devendra Fadnavis | A woman activist of the Thackeray group was assaulted by activists of the Shinde group in Thane. After this incident, former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray severely criticised Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Thackeray described Fadnavis as a useless home minister and asked him to resign. Reacting to Thackeray’s remark, Fadnavis said that Thackeray should speak with restraint.
Fadnavis said, “The residents of Maharashtra who have seen Thackeray’s tenure of two and a half years, know who is useless. I want to ask him what right does he have to speak when he did not show the courage to ask two or three ministers to resign when they were imprisoned and who was bootlicking the ministers?”
“What right does he have to speak when he was bootlicking Vaze and police were collecting extortion during his tenure? A person who worked from home for two and a half years, should not teach us politics. If we open our mouths, then he will face a difficult situation. We observe decency and maintain decorum. This does not mean that we cannot talk,” Fadnavis said.
“He should learn to speak with restraint. It is not necessary for me to react to his every statement. What is important is that people get elected by using Modi’s photograph and later, bootlick the opposition leaders. He is doing bootlicking only for grabbing the chair. Then who is really a useless person? The common man in Maharashtra knows the answer,” he said.
“He used vulgar language while speaking. I also know how to speak vulgar words but I will not do so. Because it is not my style to do so. I want to tell him that the people will give an answer to him,” he said.
“I have been a home minister for five years. At present, I am the home minister. I know that many people are facing problems because I am the home minister and they are waiting for me to leave this post. I want to tell them that I will leave this post. I have not become home minister because of you. I am home minister in the ministry led by CM Eknath Shinde. I will not hesitate to put any person in jail who is indulging in illegal activities,” he said.
When asked whether he was being targeted, he said, “Chanakya had said that when robbers, dacoits and evil people speak ill about the king, we should understand that the king is doing a good job. I am not a king. But you may realise that what Chanakya said is coming true.”
Udhhav Thackeray has demanded action against Mumbai police commissioner and sought his suspension. “If any incident takes place, our government will conduct an impartial probe but should try to politicise it. It will not be right to politicise the issue. A probe will be conducted and action will be taken against the guilty,” he added.
