Indian railways to start Clone trains on Busy route, waiting list passenger will get confirm tickets

New Delhi: Indian Railways will start clone trains to provide confirmed tickets to passengers on the busiest routes.  It  has made a new plan to give confirmed tickets on the routes on which the waiting list will be continuously extended.

In other words, one hour after the main train is flagged off, another train of the same route will go through the same platform, which will take passengers on the waiting list. Passengers with waiting tickets will reach their destination at almost the same time without any trouble.

The Indian Railways had planned the clone train at the time of former Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, but it was delayed in implementation.  Indian Railways is going to execute this scheme into reality soon. Indian Railways said that a clone train will be run to give confirmed berths to passengers with waiting lists. This clone train will be an additional train running on a route.

According to Railways, this clone train will stop at fewer stations than the main train. The officials will keep an eye on such trains and busy routes. Initially, clone trains will be run under trial. If the trial is successful, it will be regularized in the future.

As per the sources, the passengers of the waiting list will also get information about confirmed berth in the clone train 4 hours in advance.  Clone trains may run from Howrah, Mumbai CST, Chennai, Secunderabad and New Delhi.

Indian railways identified the busy routes such as Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Bhopal, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Patna. These clone trains can also be run on all the routes on which Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains run.

It is also possible that a train can be run when the waiting list of sleeper class is 400, third AC or chair car 300, first class 30 and second class 100 is crossed in a train. With this, the railways will not have to return the money if the ticket is not confirmed. This will increase railway earnings.

A similar train was started during the time of former Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, which was named Alternate Service. Under the option service, confirmed berths were provided to the passengers of the waitlist in other trains on the same route. To avail this service, passengers often had to wait for the next train for 12-12 hours.
