With his explosive batting and big hits, he attracted the attention of sports fans from around the world. He is the player who give the glamor to Indian cricket in real sense. Yuvi’s consistent batting line-up contributed a lot to win the World Cup of 2011 and 2007.

Many people are the die heart fan of this sixer king. Not just on the field of cricket, Yuvraj has been undefeated in the battle of life. Yuvraj’s stubborn attitude can be seen by the way he had overcome on cancer and returned to Team India again. So, on the occasion of his birthday, lets know some special things about his life….


Yuvraj, Tennis and Skating:

  • Yuvraj did not like cricket in his childhood, nor he thought that he could be a great cricketer in his lifetime. Yuvi used to play tennis and skating in childhood. Not only that, Yuvi had also won the national skating competition under the age of 14 years. Yuvraj became cricketer, only because of his father Yograj Singh. Yuvraj still accepts it with great respect and gives all credit of being a cricketer to his father.

Family matter:

  • Yuvi’s parents decided to take a divorce because of some family reasons. After divorce, Yuvraj chose to stay with his mother.


Yuvi and Acting :

  • At the time of childhood, Yuvi was passionate about acting also. He had acted in ‘Mehndi Sajadi’ television show for a while.

Yuvraj’s entry in cricket:

  • On 3 October 2000, Yuvraj started his ODI carrier with India- Kenya match and Test debut on 16 October 2003. The Indian Oil Cup of 2005 considered as turning point of Yuvraj. After that Yuvraj was an integral part of the Indian team.

Yuvi’s Battle with Cancer:

  • Yuvraj was quite crazy to play video games since childhood and today also. During treatment for cancer, he did not even able to walk for 10 days after chemotherapy. At that time he started crying by remembering his past and this whole scene seen by his father. When father was about to cry, Yuvi said he wants video games and he is crying for that.

Padmashree Yuvraj:
• Yuvraj honoured with the Arjuna Award in 2012 by the hands of President Pranab Mukherjee. In 2014, Yuvraj was honoured with the “Padmashree” award.
