Gujarat CM urges youth to abandon tradition of blowing candles while celebrating birthday

Gandhinagar : Congratulating Vaishnavacharya Vrajarajakumarji, a source of inspiration for the youth and founder of the Vallabh Youth Organization, on the occasion of his 35th birthday, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said, young people should abandon the tradition of  Western culture to celebrate birthdays by lighting a candle. Young people should try to bring light in everyone’s life. Smoke is also harmful in terms of environment while pure ghee lamp purifies the environment more.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched the Water Conservation Awareness Campaign and Indian Culture Conservation Campaign from Gandhinagar on Tuesday to celebrate the 35th birth anniversary of Vaishnavacharya Vrajarajakumarji at Vadodara. He said that by giving priority to water harvesting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra “Jal hai to jeevan hai” should be followed wisely.

The state government has taken several steps to save water. Water harvesting has been successfully piloted in government schools in Vadodara district. It is very important that everyone collects rainwater by setting up a water harvesting system in their home. In earlier times there was this arrangement system in the houses, which Vrajarajakumarji has inspired us to restore on the occasion of his 35th birthday. Just as we are committed to making Gujarat an ‘energy surplus state’, this campaign will play a pivotal role in making Gujarat a ‘water surplus state’ in the water sector as well. The Government of Gujarat has also undertaken a campaign every year under the Check Dam, Bori Bandh, Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan to deepen the lakes, create new ones and revive the rivers. We are greatly increasing the water storage capacity in Gujarat.
