Pune: Wedding planner’s laptop, cash stolen during event in JW Marriott Hotel

Pune: Wedding Planner Pranay Gangwal has registered a compliant at Chatuhshrungi police station regarding an alleged theft incident that took place at the JW Marriott hotel on Senapati Bapat Road in Pune city. A laptop and three lakh rupees cash were reportedly stolen from inside the banquet hall of the hotel when the complainant was having dinner post-event on November 30 at around 10pm.

The cash stolen was reportedly a part of the payment that Gangwal had received for his work. According to the complainant, the suspects must have kept an eye on him, as he was the planner and was busy in all the arrangements for the wedding. The suspects took the bag when he went for dinner.

Police officials said, the bag was stolen from the banquet hall of the hotel where the wedding ceremony was going on. All CCTV camera footage is being examined to trace the suspects. The suspects were well dressed and had entered the hotel. Till now police have found out that three unidentified men had gate crashed the wedding ceremony as guests.

Marriott representatives refused to add on to the case as it was under police investigation.
