Goods from Khadki’s CSD canteen stolen

In the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) located at Khadki range hills, the incident of theft of goods from the container was exposed. The thief stole goods from the container by breaking the lock of door which was at the back of container.

This incident was exposed at around 9.30 in the morning. Subhashchandra Babulal Yadav (33, Chakan) filed a complaint in Khadki Police Station. The Khadki police have registered a case against this thieves.

According to the information given by the police, Yadav works as a driver on the express cargo company’s container. He works for the Express cargo company to deliver goods to the military canteens in all the states.

On Tuesday, Yadav brought goods from the warehouse which is based in Chakan to the canteen which is in Khadki. Due to delay in lifting the goods from Container, Yadav parked the container at the empty space in front of the canteen.

The thieves broke the lock of the door which was at the back of container and stole 36 pressure cooker from 3 boxes of United company, water heater of Premium company and other goods worth 48 thousand 651 rupees from the container.

On Wednesday morning, Yadav came to shift the luggage from the container, then the incident was revealed. Khadki Police has arrested a suspect in this case. Khadki Police is investigating more in this case.

The Canteen Stores Department (CSD), is a solely owned by Government of India Enterprise under Ministry of Defence. And the canteen is based in all major military bases. CSD, or Army Canteen is a not-for-profit organisation, which runs retail stores for the armed force. CSD prices are low as the goods sold are exempt from taxes.

There are wide variety of products like household provisions, kitchen appliances, alcoholic drinks, cars, and sports equipment. It is originally meant exclusively for active and retired members of the Armed Forces personnel.
