Former corporator Avinash Bagve receives threat that he will be killed; Extortion of ₹30 lakh sought from him

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | A shocking incident has been reported wherein former Congress corporator Avinash Bagve was threatened that his political career will be finished and he will be killed and ₹30 lakh was sought from him. The Samarth police have registered an FIR against an unknown person. The incident took place at Bhavani Peth from 3 pm to 6.45 pm. ( Pune Crime News)

 

Avinash Bagve has lodged a complaint (87/23) at the Samarth police station. The complainant Avinash Bagve is son of former minister Ramesh Bagve and is a former corporator. When he was at his residence on Tuesday, he received a call from a person and threatened to kill him. The person sent a message which states, “We are a group of seven persons. Even if two of us are jailed, the other five will stand outside your house and office.” He was told not to contest the elections and was threatened that his career will be destroyed and demanded an extortion of ₹30 lakh.

 

After this incident, Bagve called up the Crime Branch and informed it. The police have registered an FIR and AEC’s PI Mankar is investigating the matter.

 

Last week, BJP leader Ganesh Bidkar was threatened and an extortion was sought from him. Earlier, cyber crooks had hacked the mobile of former mayor Murlidhar Mohol and demanded ₹5 crore from his friend. The police had arrested two people.
