Flyover’s girder collapsed, heavy traffic jam toward both sides of road

MUMBAI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- An accident happened when a girder collapsed while working on a flyover in Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road. No casualties were reported in this accident. But, due to the accident, the traffic in this area was stuck because of a major problem.

The iron structure supporting the under construction bridge at Lotus junction Shivaji Nagar (Mankhurd – Ghatkopar link road) fell down due to dash of container travelling towards Chheda-nagar. Two cars parked under the flyovers were damaged.

Suddenly, Girder slipped from main pillar at under construction bridge at GMLR, one marshal bike of Mumbai police and one Maruti Celerio car damage.

Still there is no any injury reported in this incident, which happened at Shivaji Nagar signal Govandi and resulted in heavy traffic jam toward both side of the road.

In an incident, one private Ertiga Car and one traffic motorcycle have been damaged. Nobody is injured. Traffic becomes normal after around one hour and efforts of traffic Police.

A case under section 279, 427 Indian Penal Code, Section 3, Damage to Public Property Act is being registered against driver of container at Deonar police station. He has been taken into custody.
