Five, including 65-year-old former minister, booked as cheques given for support of rape victim bounced

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | By promising to take care of the child and by luring her into marriage, a former minister threatened a woman with a knife and raped her. The cheques given as a financial provision for child’s support got bounced. A case of threatening to kill the woman has come to light. A case has been registered against Uttam Prakash Khandare, who was the Minister of Social Justice and Sports in the BJP-Sena coalition government, along with others. (Pune Crime News)

 

The 37-year-old woman has lodged a complaint at the Bibvewadi Police Station. Accordingly, the police registered a case against Uttam Prakash Khandare (65) from Solapur, his accomplices Mahadev Bhosale, Bandu Dashrath Gawali from Solapur and a woman. The incident happened at the B Rest House and Bibvewadi from 2012 till date.

 

According to the police, Uttam Khandare lured the complainant into marriage and pretended to take care of her child. He called the complainant to the B Rest House. He threatened her with a knife and tried to rape her. When the complainant refused, he stripped her completely so that she could not escape. She was beaten by belt and raped. The complainant became pregnant after the rape. She gave birth to a baby boy. Khandare gave cheques as financial provision for the child’s upbringing. But the cheques bounced. When she told him about this, he and others threatened to kill the complainant. Scared, she rushed to the police and lodged a complaint.
