Finally, Punekars get some relief from the CM

PUNE: NPNEWS24 ONLINE-  ‘Give at least One thousand 350 million liters (MLD) of water daily to Punekars after Diwali,’ Chief Minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis ordered to water resource department on Thursday. Punekars are already suffering from the water shortage problem due to the inadequate water supply.  Now, they will get some sigh of relief because of this CM’s order after Diwali.

Punekars are in trouble due the inadequate water supply from last week. People were started expressing the anger. But the water resources department and the municipal corporation didn’t find any solutions over it. The ruling corporators and office-bearers started raising quotations on the concerned officials.

CM Devendra Fadnavis was in Pune for attending various programmes on Thursday. At this time, BJP activists aware him about this issue. Then Fadnavis called the secretary of water resources department I S Chahal and ordered that Pune should get at least 1350 Millions of Liters per Day (MLD) water after Diwali.

Currently, there is only 1350 MLD of water get supplied for Punekars, So citizens are facing the drinking water issue in many areas. It was decide by the water resources department to reduce the water supply up to 1150 MLD After Diwali. Citizens might have faced more problem if this decision was implemented. But, due to Fadnavis’ orders, same amount of water will be supplied to city.

When, Fadnavis came to the airport, BJP city president Yogesh Gogawale brought the issue to his notice. He said that water issue becomes more critical and it will take a different turn if there is any reduction in water supply.

After the completion of the program, Fadnavis discussed the matter with the Mayor Mukta Tilak, Shrinath Bhimale and Standing Committee Chairman Yogesh Mulik, Fadnavis contacted the Water Resources Department officials and ordered regarding this, as per information given by Bhimale.
