Fares of black and yellow taxis operating in Pune district, hiked

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Black-Yellow Taxis Fares Hike In Pune | The fare for the first 1.5 km of black and yellow taxis operating in Pune district has been increased to ₹31. The decision was taken in a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Baramati) chaired by District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh as per the recommendations of the Khatua panel.

 

The deadline for recalibration of black and yellow taxis has been fixed from April 18 to June 16, 2023. All vehicle owners should bring their vehicles to RTO, Alandi Road, practice ground. Only those owners who get their taxis recalibrated from April 18 will be allowed to charge the revised fare.

 

Action will be taken against taxi owners who don’t get their taxis recalibrated within the deadline. If the recalibration is not done, the licence of the driver will be suspended for minimum seven days and maximum 40 days. Alternatively, a fine of ₹50 will be charged per day for the delay. The minimum fine will be ₹500 and the maximum fine will be up to ₹2,000, RTO Shinde said.
