Fake Certificate Scam | Eight charge-sheeted in fake certificate scam

Pune : Fake Certificate Scam | A 370-page charge sheet has been filed against eight accused for preparing fake mark sheets, certificates and other documents and by establishing bogus boards, universities and distributing such documents to 2,739 students.

 

Investigations revealed that the accused took money ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs 80,000 for issuing such certificates. Sayyad Imran Sayyad Ibrahim (38), a resident of Sambhaji Nagar, Sandip Dnyandev Kamble, a resident of Sangli district, Aftab Abdul Shaikh (29), a resident of Osmanabad district and Krushna Sonaji Giri (39), a resident of Sambhaji Nagar have been charge-sheeted.

 

Jamal Asghar Shaikh (36), a resident of Mumbai, Mahesh alias Mubib Dayashankar Vishwakarma (35), a resident of Mumbai, Sandipkumar Shamalshankar Gupta (33), a resident of Kurla and Jagdish Ramesh Pathak (33) of Raigad are other accused charge-sheeted.

 

Sayyad Imran, the kingpin of the racket, started a website as Maharashtra State Open School (MSOS) in 2019. The open school had no permission to charge fees or conduct exams. However, the accused got it approved as an NGO and charged fees and issued certificates to students.

 

He accepted money ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs 80,000 from students. The charge sheet stated that he distributed certificates of SSC, HSC, BSc, BCom, BA, ITI Diploma, Engineering and Nursing to around 2,739 students by taking money from them.

 

A team comprising ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar, policemen Gajanan Sonwalkar, Rahul Holkar investigated the case and filed the charge sheet. Cyber expert Kapil Jain played a major role in technical analysis in the case.

 

Certificates of these universities distributed

The accused established bogus universities and boards such as Ejvas University, Amdas University, MBTEE Board, MSOAS, Maharashtra State Open School, MRMV and Board of Secondary Education Marathwada.

Those students who have procured certificates from the accused should immediately surrender them to the Pune Police. The institutions and companies which have employed such students holding fake certificates should report their names to the police. Strict action will be taken against people holding fake certificates.
