Fake caller tracking

MUMBAI: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE– The Employees’Provident fund Organisation (EPFO) has now started tracking the fake callers who are involve to cheat the members. In a such case the Bandra Office in Mumbai, has issued a public notice that a person trying to call the members and pretend him as a officer of EPFO.

“A member has received a call an pretend him as an officer of EPFO. He reached to our office and provided the number. When we searched the number on Google and true caller and got to know that the number (9102195592) is belongs to Deepak Sharma. Which not related with our office” said Assistant Provident Fund (PF) Commissioner, Bandra.

In notice the officer said that ” The said number is asking for Income Tax PAN card, Aadhar number and ATM number. For processing of withdrwal of Provident Fund/Updation KYC of Universal Account Number (UAN). EPFO subscribers/ members kindly note that EPFO, Bandra 1, 2, 3, 4 is not demanding any documents/ information on phone or email to withdraw or update UAN.

The Bandra office has filled a complaint at Cyber Police station in BKC, Mumbai and Senior Police station at Nirmal Nagar police station and the matter is under investigation.
