Eid Date Announced, Eid ul Azha Will Be Celebrated On 1st August

Lucknow : Eid ul Azha’s moon was not seen on Tuesday anywhere in the country including the national capital Delhi, so now Eid ul Azha will be celebrated on August 1. It was announced by Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahli, the Sadar of Qazi-e-Shahar, the Marakji Chand Committee, Farangi Mahal in Lucknow. In the statement issued by the Markji Chand Committee, it was said that the  moon was not seen on July 21. Therefore the first date of Jillij will be on 23 July 2020. Thus Bakrid will be celebrated on 1 August 2020.

Maulana Mufti Mukarram, Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Mosque in Delhi, said, “There is no moon in India, including Delhi.” Bakrid will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1, Ba-Roj.” He said, “The sky was not clear in Delhi, but in Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh, where the sky was clear, the moon has not been seen.”

At the same time, the building A Sharia Hind also announced that the festival of Eid ul Azha or Zuha will be celebrated on August 1. “There was no moon seen in Delhi nor is there any news of moon sighting from any part of the country,” Muizuddin Ahmed, secretary of the Ruyat-e Hilal Committee of Bhawan-e-Sharia Hind, said in a statement.

Ahmed said, “The first date of Zill Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, will be on 23 July and Eid ul Azha will be celebrated on 1 August.”

The festival of Bakrid is celebrated on the 10th day of the moon’s sighting. Meanwhile, Mufti Mukarram said, “The people of the Muslim community who have about 612 grams of silver or money equal to it, are justified on the sacrifice.”

Maulana Mukarram said, “It is not necessary that the sacrifice should be done in your home or city. Where the lockdown is in place, people can send money to their relatives living in other places to sacrifice.”
