Customs dept seizes 4 kg Gold worth Rs 1.29 crores at Pune airport

PUNE: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In yet another recovery of gold from a passenger of Spice Jet coming from Dubai, officials from the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Customs department seized four Gold Bars total weighing 4000 grams valued at Rs 1.29 crores.

The Gold bars were covered with black adhesive tape and kept in the toilet of the aircraft, Spice Jet Flight No. SG-52 which arrived from Dubai on Thursday at 4.25 am. All the four Gold Bars are of foreign origin marked and engraved as International precious metal Refiners, bearing Serial marks. Inspector Deshraj Meena detected and recovered the Gold Bars from the toilet.

Rajesh Ramarao, Joint Commissisoner, Harshal Mete, Deputy Commissisoner, Sudha lyer, Superintendent (AIU), supervised the team which included Sanjay V. Zarekar, Satish C. Sangle both Superintendents of Customs, Rajendra Prasad Meena , G J Joshi , BS Hagawane all Inspectores of Cusrtoms, S S Nimbalkar & AN Bhaat both Havalder of Customs.
