COVID19 : Shortage of beds in Nagpur hospitals

New Delhi : Coronavirus is wreaking havoc in the country again. More than fifty thousand cases have been reported in one day after about five months. The worst condition is in Maharashtra, where more than 60 percent of the cases are coming. Surprising information has now come out of Nagpur, where there has been a shortage of beds in the hospital amidst increasing cases.

According to Nagpur GMC medical officer, there are 600 beds in the hospital but 90 of them are in the basement. These beds have been closed due to the problem of drainage, we were still waiting for the permission of the High Court. Now we have got beds in the past.

Nagpur is one of the ten districts in the country that has the most active cases. About 3700 new cases were registered in the district here on the previous day as well, which is the highest figure till date. At present, there are more than 34 thousand active cases in Nagpur.

The lockdown has been imposed till 31 March due to the Corona crisis in Nagpur. Not only Nagpur but Beed, Nanded has also issued an order for complete lockdown. Apart from these, there are restrictions like lockdown, night curfew in many cities of Maharashtra.
