Coronavirus: 93 New Cases Reported in Delhi, All Relates to Tablighi Jamaat
Delhi Police has also found Maulana Saad Kandhavali, the leader of Tabligi Jamaat. He was absconding since an FIR was lodged against him for organizing a religious program in Nizamuddin area last month. Police sources gave this information on Wednesday. He said that Maulana’s presence was found in Zakir Nagar in South East Delhi. However, Maulana’s lawyer Tausif Khan had earlier said that Saad himself is in a separate residence and would join the investigation after the 14-day period was over. The period of Saad’s self-isolation is expected to end next week.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police had registered an FIR against seven people, including Maulvi, on 31 March on a complaint made by the NIA station of Nizamuddin. The police station in-charge had made a complaint in connection with organizing a religious program here, not following social distancing and alleged violation of lockdown orders passed to preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.
