Class 11 admissions – 30,000 seats remain vacant, no admission in 32 colleges

Eleven seats for vacant seats, zero admission in 32 colleges

Pune: NP NEWS 24– ONLINE All the seats in the 32 colleges have remained vacant due to lack of admission. A total of 30,743 seats in all the colleges have remained vacant, and the highest number of is in  Science branch with 15,721. This is a worrying trend as India is know to have huge of pool of students and has produced hundreds of scientists.

The worrying statistics were released by the Deputy Director of Education. A total of 666292 students took admission. There were 97,435 seats available in 818 colleges. Of these 52580 students got admission in online admission rounds and 14112 quota admissions were made.

There is no entry in 32 aided colleges in the city in which there are 2150 seats. Of the 818 colleges, 20115 seats have been filled in 160 colleges. Less than 20 students were admitted in 165 colleges. Highest 15721 vacancies of Science Branch remain vacant, 6053 seats in Arts branch,  while 71593 seats for MCVC remained vacant. There are 2,144 posts in Marathi medium of Arts branch and 4,019 seats in English medium.

Arts Branch – Lowest entry

The number of people who have access to arts branch in traditional education has decreased greatly. Only 7,797 students from Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have got admission in Arts branch. Most 31, 569 entries have been made in the commerce branch. Thereafter 24089 students have been admitted in the science stream.
 
14,112 entries in the quota

The Nagpur Bench directed the High Court to fill the seats of minority colleges at their respective levels. According to this, 14112 admissions have been made under quota. 52580 students took admission under the cap round. A total of 66629 students took admission for the Eleventh class.
