The joy of this festival is celebrated with great pleasure even in foreign countries. On this day in India, people start their day by paying obeisance in temples and gurudwaras. People wear yellow clothes on these days. Hindus install and worship the idol of Goddess Saraswati. They offer yellow sweets such as sweet rice, laddu, boondi etc. Children celebrate this day by flying colorful kites on this day. Uttarkashi

In Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand, the festival of Basant Panchami is celebrated with great joy and celebration. People here use Palash wood, leaves and flowers etc. in the worship of Goddess Saraswati. People wear yellow clothes and do kirtan overnight and immerse the idol of Goddess in the holy rivers on the next day. On this day people also organize kite flying and fill sky with colorful kites and enjoy this festival very much.

Punjab and Haryana

In Punjab and Haryana, this festival is especially celebrated by flying kites. Bengal

The festival of Bansat Panchami in Bengal is celebrated in full swing. Here, like Durga Puja, idol of Goddess Saraswati is worshiped in a large pandal. After the puja, Goddess Saraswati is offered laddus made of Bundi and sweet yellow rice. Also, people celebrate these days by singing folk songs and organizing dance ceremonies. On this day in Bengali communities, there is a ritual of cooking 13 types of food varieties.
