Bangalore Smashers will be new team in Ultimate Table Tennis competition; Team is owned by young businessman Punit Balan

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Bengaluru Smashers – Punit Balan | The ‘Ultimate Table Tennis’ competition is going to be held in India after three years. A new team ‘Bangalore Smashers’ will be a part of the event. The team is owned by young businessman Punit Balan and he has made another foray into the sports arena. The competition will be held from July 13 to 30 at the Balewadi stadium. Players not only from India but all over the world will take part in the event. Hence, the competition will be a bonanza for sports lovers. On behalf of Indian Table Tennis Federation, Neeraj Bajaj and Vita Dani started organising the competition from 2017. The competition was held for three consecutive years. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event could not be held. Now, the fourth season is being organised with renewed vigour. Six teams will compete with each other for the winner’s prize.

 

Teams like U Mumba, Puneri Paltan, Goa Challengers, Dabang Delhi and Kolkata will take part in the event. The place of Chennai Lions has been taken by the new team of Bangalore Smashers.

 

The team is owned by Pune’s young businessman Punit Balan. Balan has invested in Ultimate Kho-Kho, Tennis League, Premier Badminton League and Handball League. In the Premier Handball League, he also owns the Maharashtra Ironman team.

 

“I am happy that I will be able to associate with the Ultimate Table Tennis competition which is known all over the world and has participation of many important world-level players. Table Tennis is now becoming a popular sport in India. We will try to make efforts to further increase its popularity. This has also given an opportunity to encourage rising players,” said owner of Bangalore Smashers team Punit Balan.
