Assam Reports First Death Due to Coronavirus, Patient Died at Silchar Medical College Hospital

New Delhi : Coronavirus has caused the first death in Assam. Earlier, the minister had informed about the delicate condition of this patient on Thursday. This 65-year-old elderly patient was from Hailakandi. Manglaver was found positive after Corona’s test.

It is being told that this patient had a travel history. He had returned from Saudi Arabia. At present, the figure of infected people in the state has reached 29. Meanwhile, 1258 people were arrested and fined Rs 21.7 lakh for violating the lockdown in Assam.

According to a police report, the arrests and fines were imposed in connection with 578 cases registered for 1,108 incidents of lockdown violation. According to the release, 5,871 vehicles and 17 boats were seized during this period. According to the release, 31 people were arrested for spreading fake news about Coronavirus and 58 cases were registered and 150 posts of social media were removed in this regard.

Markets, offices and other establishments in Assam remained closed on Wednesday, on the 15th day of the nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and vehicles were not visible on the roads. However many people came out violating the lockdown on which the police took action.

Meanwhile, Father John Moolchera, Archbishop of Guwahati, met Governor Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan and apprised him of the relief work done by the Christians. The Governor appreciated his efforts and appealed to him to continue his service in coordination with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts.
