Assailants cut off youth’s ‘hand’ from the wrist for refusing to give Rs 100
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | While everyone was busy welcoming New Year, a shocking incident happened around 1.15 am. Four persons, including two minors, chopped off a student’s left hand from the wrist for refusing to give Rs 100. (Pune Crime News)
The Chatuhshrungi Police immediately reached the spot and saved the life of the injured. The police have arrested two of the perpetrators and detained two minors.
In this regard, Ashutosh Arjun Mane (24) Pashan lodged a complaint with the police. Pankaj Tamboli’s left hand was amputated from the wrist in the attack by the accused. The arrested have been identified as Pranav Kashinath Waghmare (18) and Gaurav Gautam Manavatkar (20), both from Pashan. Two minor accomplices have been detained, senior PI Balaji Pandhare said.
According to the police, complainant Ashutosh Mane, along with his friends Abhijit Sanmute, Sajid Sheikh, Swapnil Patil, Mihir Deshpande, stay in Pashan area for the last couple of months and all of them are pursuing DAC course in CDAC ACTS institute. Ashutosh Mane, Sajid Shaikh, Pankaj Tamboli came to Sai Chowk at around 12 o’clock in the night as their mess was closed on December 31, 2022. Pankaj’s friend Mayur Phunde also came there to have dinner. All dined at Harshad Hotel and stood outside on the road at around 1.15 am. Two boys came there on a motorcycle and demanded Rs 100 from Mayur and Pankaj.
Pankaj told him that he had no money. The motorcyclists forced them to give money. Pankaj strongly opposed it. They started abusing him. The motorcyclists called their friends and two more persons arrived. One of the four started attackin Pankaj with a sharp weapon on his left hand. Within moments, Pankaj’s left hand fell from the wrist. Everyone panicked as he was bleeding profusely. Citizens of the area were also terrorised by this act of the attackers.
The Chatuhshrungi police reached the spot and immediately took Pankaj to the Jupiter Hospital for treatment. The police saved Pankaj’s life. Ashutosh Arjun Mane described the assailants to PSI Nileshkumar Mahadik.
The Chaturshringi police then arrested Pranav Waghmare and Gaurav Manavatkar till Sunday afternoon. Two minor accomplices were detained. The Chatuhshrungi police are investigating the case further.
