API issues death threats to woman to withdraw rape case

A 50-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the Shivajinagar Police Station. The police registered a case against API Chandrakant Bhagwan Mane (53) from Solapur. Mane is currently working at the Kegaon Training Center in Solapur.
The complainant and the accused know each other. Chandrakant Mane met the complainant in Pune. He raped her. The complainant lodged a complaint at the Samarth Police Station in 2020.
Also, a complaint was lodged at the Bijapur Naka Police Station of Solapur City Police. Chandrakant Mane approached the High Court against it. On February 17, Chandrakant Mane called the complainant to the canteen in Shivajinagar court premises. He threatened to kill her if she didn’t withdraw the rape complaint. He told her that he knew people at the high level. He blamed her for the pending case in the High Court. The Shivaji Nagar Police have registered a case and PSI Salve is investigating.
