The Akhand Bharat Yuva Morcha had filed a complaint in the National Green Tribunal against the allegations of sound pollution from these seven mosques.

The locals have tremendous difficulty because the sound level in these mosques is not controlled. It is also alleged that the health of many people is being adversely affected.

Earlier, the complaints regarding these seven mosques were filed to the Delhi Pollution Control Board. But the Delhi Pollution Control Committee ignored them.

The National Green Tribunal has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of Akhand Bhartiya Morcha against mosques regarding sound contamination.

The Akhand Bharat Morcha Sangh has imposed allegations of sound pollution from the mosque of East Delhi’s Golden Mosque, Laxmi Nagar Mosque, Anarkali Mosque, Bismillah Mosque, Sarojini Naidu Park Mosque, Bihari Colony Mosque and Madhu Vihar Mosque.

Before also, the NGT president Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel’s Bench surprised the fact that despite the complaints of allegations of noise pollution from these mosques, the Delhi Pollution Control Department has never investigated.

In spite of these complaints, the NGT was shocked to not investigate the DPCC or any other authority.

Previously also the plea, filed through advocate Rahul Raj Malik, had alleged that the activities of some mosques were in violation of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, adding that authorities have not taken any action despite several complaints.

It had claimed that these places of worship were located in silent zones housing schools and hospitals and noise from their loudspeakers surpassed the laid down decibel levels.

The petition was referred to the NGT’s September 2017 order which directed the Delhi government and the DPCC to ensure that religious places in East Delhi strictly adhere to the guidelines on noise pollution.

Now, these mosques will be investigated for noise pollution and action will be taken even if found guilty in these allegations filed by the Akhand Bharat Morcha Sangh.
