Beed: NpNews24 Online  ACB Trap News | A police sub-inspector of Shivaji Nagar police station in Beed city and a police constable were caught red handedly by the Anti-Corruption Bureau team for demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 and accepting a Rs 10,000 to give a bail in the kidnapping case and also to return the car used for the crime.(ACB Trap News)

 

The ACB team chased and arrested both of them while they were trying to escape after accepting the bribe. The action was taken on Tuesday, August 22 in the Shivaji Nagar area police station. Due to this action the police has become agitated.

 

The accused police has been identified as police sub-inspector Laxman Kanlal Kirtane (34) and police constable Ranjit Bhagwan Pawar (42). The complainant who lodged a complaint with ACB is a 44-year-old man residing at Kendrewadi in Ambajogai taluka.

 

As per the initial information a case of kidnapping has been registered against the complainant’s son at the Shivaji Nagar police station in Beed city. In this crime the accused was demanded Rs 15,000 for bail and also to release the vehicle used in the crime. As the complainant did not agree to pay the bribe amount he complained to the Beed ACB.

 

When the ACB team verified it was found that police sub-inspector Laxman Kirtane and police constable Ranjit Pawar demanded bribe. Also during the verification a total of Rs 18,000 bribe was demanded. The ACB team laid a trap in the police station area.

 

The accused took Rs 8,000 from the co-accused driver of the crime. The remaining Rs 10,000 was accepted as a bribe from the complainant. The action was initiated under the guidance of superintendent of police Sandeep Atole, additional superintendent of police Vishal Khambe, deputy superintendent of police Shankar Shinde, police inspector Gulab Bachevad, police inspector Yunus Shaikh along with a team of police constables Giram, Sangle, Garde, Kharsade, Gawli, Rathod and driver Mehetre. duo and caught them red-handed with the bribe money. A case has been registered against both of them at Shivaji Nagar police station.
