95 lakhs applications for 10,000 vacancies in Railway Protection Force (RPF)

Mumbai: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – The exponentially high unemployment in the country compounded with facts like government job security and police uniforms have resulted in 95 lakhs applications for recruitment of 10,000 constables and officers in the Railway Protection Force (RPF).

The RPF has a mammoth task of verifying the applications and conducting their examination. The sorting will be done with the help of computers and then the process will be completed in phased manner.

After this, the process of selection will be undertaken. In the same way, the database is being prepared by RPF. It includes RPF jawans across the country. Information about 9,000 employees of North and Eastern Railways have already gathered for the pilot project, RPF Director General Arun Kumar on Friday said.

The recruitment is being done for 8619 constables and 1120 sub inspectors.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is a security force of India entrusted with protecting railway passengers, passenger area and railway property of the Indian Railways .It has the power to arrest, investigate and prosecute criminals.
