65yo Bihar Woman Gave Birth to 8 Girl Child in 14 Months !

Patna: A 65 year old woman has given birth to 8 children in the last 14 months which is impossible in medical science. However this was made possible by the National Health Mission. This comes to light in Bihar, which is known for its scams. The sole intention behind this fraud was to receive money which is given by the center on the birth of a girl child.

The incident took place in Mushahri block of Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. The scam was carried out by intermediaries to receive the incentive money from the National Health Mission. The National Health Mission sanctions money to mothers who give birth to a girl child.

The middlemen basically filed fake births in the name of mothers who cannot naturally get pregnant and received incentive money.

The Mission officials and the bank’s CSP used to send incentive money to an elderly woman on the basis of this document without verifying it. Upendra Chaudhary, in-charge of Masuhari Primary Health Center, has lodged an FIR with the police.

The 65 year old lady is Leela Devi whose account 1400 Rs for every girl child has been deposited and also withdrawn. This way she gave birth to 5 children in 9 month. Soniya Devi, another woman gave birth to 4 children in 5 months.

On examining the women, they said, it’s been years giving birth to children’.

On the orders of the District Magistrate, a high level investigation has been started in this case. The inquiry committee headed by ADM Rajesh Kumar found that the allegations of scam are real, a detailed investigation is underway.
