50 million Facebook accounts hacked second time!

Facebook’s 50 million accounts have hacked. There has been fear that the hacked accounts will include large numbers of Indian accounts. Facebook has not made any announcement about which country’s accounts get hacked. Now the question is raising on the Facebook’s credibility, as the data of users is often stolen.

About 50 million users worldwide have been affected, but Facebook said that country-wide statistics are not available, while giving information to Ireland’s data regulatory body.

Facebook has more than 2 billion users worldwide. It has 27 crore users only in India. So, there is a possibility of a large number of Indian accounts gets hacked.

Hackers hacked Facebook accounts using this feature:

Facebook brought new features to attract customers. Hackers have hacked this data through similar features. The ‘View As’ feature is used to see how Facebook users feel about their own profile. The hacker has hacked the Facebook accounts by taking advantage of the lack in the security of ‘View as’ feature, according to company CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

A bug in these features was used by hackers to hack accounts. Hackers got access of Facebook by finding the bug and hacked accounts through it. The Facebook account remains logged in with the help of a digital key named as- token access, so there is no need of re-entering the password when the user wants to log in again. Hackers have hacked this account by taking advantage of it. Therefore, Facebook has advised users to log in after log-out once, without changing the password.

The company has said that “We are investigating this matter in detail. It has not been confirmed, whether the information of the hacked account was stolen or misused. The security and privacy of users are very important for us, so we apologize for whatever happened.”

This is the second time Facebook users data get hacked. Facebook is not serious about the data security of users! But this attack is different from Cambridge Analytica scandal. In this scandal, an attempt was made to change the user’s political belief, by sending personalized messages to them.
