2 woman cops nab two bike-borne robbers, recovers stolen phone

Two women constables of the Pune city police are being lauded by the department for their presence of mind and daring attitude. They chased and nabbed two youths who had snatched the mobile phone of a woman who was walking on the roadside.

Police Naik Sangita Kherdikar and Sonam Gurav, both posted with Samarth traffic division, were managing traffic at Banerji Chowk near Mahesh Lunch Home in Camp, on Saturday. Nigah Shaikh (38) of Kondhwa was walking on the road when two youths on a motorcycle came near her and snatched away from her mobile phone. As she raised an alarm, the policewomen who were on duty gave a chase to the youths. With the help of some passers-by, the duo was caught and handed over to Bundgarden police station for further investigation. Police recovered the phone also.

DCP (Traffic) Tejaswi Satpute lauded their effort in catching the two robbers.
