180 students cheats of Rs 10.26 lakhs for picnic

 

Pune : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE-  Two persons from Delhi have been booked by Pune city police for allegedly duping 180 students to the tune of Rs 10.26 lakhs under pretext of booking air tickets for picnic.

 

Sandip Sampatlal Sethiya (45) of Mukujdnagar has lodged an FIR in this regard with Swargate police station. The accused persons have been identified as Gagandeep Singh Adhi and Sandip Kumar, both residents of Delhi.

 

According to police, the incident took place between July and November this at the office of Kite Tourism in Sadashiv Peth. The accused persons had offered to book Pune-Chandigarh and Chandigarh-Pune air tickets for 180 students and each of them paid Rs 10,900. They laid 60 percent money in advance totalling Rs 10.26 lakhs but the accused didn’t buy tickets for them.

Police have charged the accused persons for offences under sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
