Pune : 60 year old man arrested for raping maid servant

Pune : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- The Vimantal police station under Pune city police has arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly raping his maid servant.

The 23-year-old complaint lives in Lohegaon. She worked at the house of Madanlal Prajapati in Kalwadvasti, Lohegaon.

According to police, the incident took place in June this year. When nobody else was there in the house, the accused raped her. He threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone. After she became pregnant, she approached an NGO on helpline number 1098 (Child Line) and narrated her ordeal. After preliminary enquiry, police registered the case on Wednesday and arrested the accused person.

The accused has been charged for offences under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
