12-year-old dies after falling from balcony

Pimpri: A 12-year-old child died after falling from the seventh floor of Kohinoor Shangri-La building in Pimpri Chinchwad on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Atharva Deepak Gawde (12), lived with his family on the seventh floor of the Kohinoor Shangri-La building in Pimpri Chinchwad.

On an ill-fated day, he was playing on the balcony with his six-year-old brother while his mother was busy with other household work. While playing, Atharva tried to peek down from the balcony and lost control. He slipped and fell straight to the ground from the seventh floor.

Atharva was rushed to YCM Hospital in critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
