YouTube hosts its first ever NextUp for Artists in India at the YouTube PopUp Space 

NP News 24 Mumbai : To support the ever growing community of independent music artists in India, YouTube brought the special edition of NextUp for Artist to Mumbai.  The city also witnessed YouTube’s PopUp Space for the first time at Famous Studios, where YouTube creators shot their upcoming videos with state-of-the-art equipment and specially designed sets.

10 NextUp artist winners including Vani Rao, Prabh Deep, Tom Murmu, Lost Stories Music among others, attended workshops over a period of five days, to enhance their production skills, camera work, lighting, sound and audio.

The winners were also mentored by top Artists such as Badshah and Raja Kumari;  industry veterans, leading music label and marketing executives including Vinit Thakkar (Senior VP, India & South Asia, Universal Music India), Jay Mehta (Digital Director, Sony Music India) and Eric Fritschi (Artist Partnerships, MTheory), on song writing, digital marketing, building and managing their brand.
On the last day of the camp, each winner received a production voucher worth INR 1,40,000 from YouTube.

The NextUp winners also received mentorship from Sunny MR, one of India’s most sought after music producer, composer and sound engineer for their performance at All About Music, industry conference, following the NextUp camp. The conference will have thousands of delegates including Artists, Artist managers, Labels Executives and Publishers from all over the country and from abroad in attendance.

Built around the ‘Learn’, ’Connect’, and ‘Create’ model of YouTube permanent Spaces, Pop-Up Space is a global initiative that focuses on the development and growth of content creators across the country.
By using YouTube Pop-Up Space, creators will be able to provide richer and more engaging visual content across genres.
At the Pop Up in Mumbai, creators were offered production training by experts from Sony and Adobe to up their camera technique and editing skills.

Additionally, Pop-up Spaces were offered trainings on strategies used by the most successful YouTube creators, hands-on workshops to improve presence across Google and YouTube, and opportunities to meet and collaborate with other members of the YouTube community.
