Youngest Victim of Kashmir’s Pellet Horror
Pellet damaged critical parts of 19th month old Heeba’s eye; Doctor feared, she might lose vision
NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- A 19 month old Heeba was crying in pain at Shri Maharaj Hari Singh hospital of Srinagar. With her little hands, she was trying to remove the dressing pad from her critically injured right eye. Pellet guns have damaged lives of many Kashmiri since year of 2016 and now Heeba becomes youngest victim of this pellet guns. This incident of Sunday morning have raised question on the existence of humanity in Kashmir.
According to the doctor, A pellet has gone deep inside her eye and she would require a surgery even after completion of primary care.
Sunday morning, Heeba’s family was trying to escape from their home in Kapran village of Shopian district, when security forces fired teargas shells to chase the accused youth.
With teary eyes Heeba’s mother said that Heeba her my son were choking inside the house as smoke was started filling inside the house. When they started going away from the house, a group of Police force were chasing a youth and then Police fired pellet for catching accused. But in this chasing and catching chaotic situation she saw blood coming out from Heeba’s eye, as a pellet was gone inside her eye.
According to the information, Heeba’s father was not at home when incident took place. He is labour worker and had on work at nearby district since last two days. His cousin called him and informed about this heart-breaking incidence.
This little girl’s pain brought tears in eyes of many including nurses. Her mother was saying like, “You were the vision of my eyes, hey you are my little angel, and look what they did with your eye!”
