Woman suffers a heart attack,then burnt to death in her car

A 44-year-old woman who was being rushed to hospital after she suffered a heart attack, died of burn injuries after the car she was traveling suddenly started burning.

The incident took place around 1 am on Monday near Hotel Sayaji in Wakad. Her husband had removed his mother, son, and nephew but the woman was trapped inside as the car door got locked from inside.

The deceased has been identified as Sangeeta Manish Hiwale, a resident of Kalewadi.

According to police, the family members had taken her to a hospital in Wakad but as there was no facility to treat her there, she was being taken to another hospital. When they were passing near Hotel Sayaji, there was suddenly a fire in the car. Her husband safely got out his mother, son, and nephew but she got trapped inside. The car door got locked from the inside. By the time Pimpri Chinchwad fire brigade personnel arrived and controlled the fire, Sangeeta was burnt to death.

Her husband suffered burn marks while trying to rescue her and he is currently admitted in hospital for treatment.
