Woman raped by offering sedative-laced cold drink; seven booked for physically assaulting and forcing her to marry

He repeatedly had physical relations with her by threatening to make her videos viral. He forced her to get married and threatened to kill her parents. (Pune Crime News)
In this case, a 23-year-old woman from Satara has lodged a complaint at the Sahakar Nagar Police Station. Accordingly, the police have filed an FIR against seven people, including Abhimanyu Dilip Sherekar, Udayan Dilip Sherekar, Dilip Sherekar, Prashant Koli, Kapil and Sagar. The incident took place at Balaji Nagar in Dhankawadi area between August 18, 2021 and October 28, 2022.
According to the police, the complainant and Abhimanyu Sherekar were friends. Abhimanyu called the complainant to his home in Balaji Nagar. He laced her cold drink with an intoxicant. When she became unconscious, he raped her. He took photos and videos of this. He repeatedly raped her by threatening to send these photos and videos to her relatives. On April 5, 2022, Abhimanyu, his friend Prashant Koli and the car driver took her to Thane. There the complainant was forced to get married to Abhimanyu. Later, when the complainant asked about deleting those photos and videos, Abhimanyu’s brother Udayan Sherekar and father Dilip Sherekar beat her. They threatened to kill her parents. The complainant lodged a complaint at the Rahimatpur Police Station in Satara district. A case has been registered at the Sahakar Nagar Police Station.
