Woman dies after crushed by tractor trolley in Pune

Pune: A woman died in a road accident after a tractor trolly hit her two-wheeler on the Manmad-Belgaum National Highway on the road between Gajanan Society and Rajdhani Hotel in Daund around 6 pm on Sunday, the police said.

The deceased has been identified as Kavita Suresh Kale (42), resident of Waghjai Khandoba Mala, Jai Bhavani Super Market, Manjari Khurd, Taluka Haveli.

Suresh Kale (48), husband of the deceased, has lodged a complaint in this regard, informed police officer Dilip Bhakre. Accordingly, tractor driver Deepak Baban More, resident of Kangaon, Taluka Daund, has been arrested.

According to the police, Suresh Kale and his wife Kavita had come from Manjari on a two-wheeler to Daund to attend a wedding. After the wedding, the couple was returning to Manjari when the tractor hit their two-wheeler and the trolley went over Kavita’s stomach, injuring her.

She was rushed to a private hospital in Daund, where the doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Police Sub-Inspector Sushil Londhe is further investigating the case.
