Wai court acquits MP Udayan Raje Bhosale and 11 others in the Anewadi Toll naka mishap

Wai: MP and BJP leader Udayan Raje Bhosale and 11 other supporters were acquitted by the Wai court in the toll transfer agitation case at Anewadi (Tal. Wai) Tolnaka today, (January 22). MP Udayan Raje along with Ashok Sawant, Ajinkya Mohite, Murlidhar Bhosale, Sunny Bhosale, Sujit Awale, Raju Godse, Kiran Kurade, Imtiaz Bagwan, Balasaheb Dhekne, Vivek alias Banda Jadhav and others had violated the District Collector’s Curfew Order on 5th October 2017 at 6 pm at Anewadi Toll Naka.

Udayan Raje and 250 people had gathered at Anewadi toll naka to oppose the transfer of toll saying that issue was local workers and Diwali bonus as well as toll collection would not be given to anyone.

All these incidents had created a tense atmosphere in the Toll naka area. As a result, a large police contingent was deployed there. Dhanaji Tanaji Kadam, a police constable from Bhuij police station, had lodged a complaint against the crowd for violating the Collector’s order. A case was registered in this regard.

Six witnesses were examined during the hearing. After the final hearing, the court acquitted Udyan Raje and his 11 accomplices. MP Udayan Raje and all his colleagues were present in the court for the hearing. Milind Pandkar represented on behalf of the government, while advocate Taher Maner represented Udayan Raje and others. The case was heard in the court of Justice MN Girwalkar at Wai.
