Viman Nagar police arrest two accused for trying to extort money from businessman

PUNE : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Crime News | The Viman Nagar police have arrested two persons for trying to extort money from a businessman after threatening him with a sharp weapon. (Pune Crime News)

 

The arrested accused have been identified as Rohit Nagesh Koli (22), a resident of Lohegaon and Somnath Deepak Gaikwad (21), a resident of Viman Nagar. The owner of Kakacha Chaha shop Vikas Shrichandrapal Singh (35), a resident of Viman Nagar, was in his shop on April 18 at 10 am. A man came to his shop and threatened him with a sharp weapon and demanded extortion and ran away after brutally assaulting him.

 

An FIR had been registered at the Viman Nagar police station. When the police were searching for the accused, policemen Dadasaheb barde, Nana Karche and Yogesh Thopte were on the ground near MHADA colony. The information was verified.

 

PSI Ravindra Dhavre gave the information to Sr PI Vilas Sonde. The police laid a trap and arrested the accused. When they were questioned, they admitted to committing the crime. PSI Wakde is probing the case.

 

Based on instructions issued by Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma, DCP Shashikant Borate, ACP Kishor Jadhav and under the guidance of Sr PI Vilas Sonde, PI (crime) Sangeeta Mali, the action was taken by PSI Ravindra Dhaware, policemen Avinash Shewale, Sachin Kadam, Sachin Jadhav, Girish Nanekar, Ankush Jogdande, Nana Karche, Yogesh Thopte, Dadasaheb Barde and Dnyaneshwar Awari.
