Varanasi Hanuman temple threatened to blow up

Lucknow: NP NEWS 24 ONLINE – Varanasi’s famous temple of Lord Hanuman situated in Rambagh area was threatened to be blown by a bomb attack in a letter.

After the threatening has been received, since then the police has been on high alert and a tight security has been deployed outside the Hanuman temple.

The authorities of the temple had received a threatening letter which talks about attacking the temple like the bomb blast attack in the year 2006. The letter reads, “I am in touch with the people willing to infiltrate into Indian borders.”

The temple’s Mahant Vishwabhar Nath Mishra gave this information to the police. He said that the letter has been handed over to the police now. Police are on their toes and have started investigating on the matter further.

Many police officials have been deployed in the area who have managed to shift the devotees to a safe place. And the temple authorities have also been assured safety.

Although according to some senior police officials they have confirmed that it was a mischievous act by some notorious and no threat. Also, a team of police, forensic department and local unit are investigating further on this issue.

He also informed that it was a four-page letter which was computer generated and the address which was mentioned on it proved to be a fake one when researched. Also, the temple authorities have been assured that it is a fake threat letter and police is investing in this case.

Notably, in the year 2006, there were many several bomb blasts which took place in Sankat Mochan temple of Varanasi, Railway cantonment and Dashashwamegh Ghat areas of Varanasi. Among which total 18 people died and many were injured. This bomb blast took place during Aarti that is during the worship of Lord Hanuman.
